Remember you can use the negative form: He is not standing up (NOT goes between BE and the verb).

Logan calls Terry to invite him to come and play. But Terry can't: he is busy! Look at the drawings and say what Terry told Logan. Here is an example:

Listen carefully to the dialogue. > Can you hear all the verbs in the BE+V-ING form?
What verbs are they?
- > “He is walking” > to walk.
One of you mimes an action or activity and the others must guess what it is. You can suggest an answer or ask a question.
- > Are you flying?
- > He is sitting down.
Le présent en BE + V-ING
- > BE au présent + base verbale + ING.
- > I + am + walk + ing > I am walking.
Il sert à parler de ce qui se passe au moment où l'on parle (What are you doing?). C'est important au moment même où on le dit (I'm telling you, this is not my book), c'est étonnant ou choquant (Are you joking?). Il y a un lien très fort entre la situation et ce qu'on en dit.
Dans une question, l'ordre des mots est le même qu'au présent simple :
- > (Mot interrogatif) + Auxiliaire BE conjugué + Sujet + Verbe en ING (+ compléments) + ?
- > What are you doing?
- > Is it raining?
