Meet Sherlock Holmes
Sherlock Holmes is a very popular character: he appears in detective stories written by Arthur Conan Doyle, for example The Hound of the Baskervilles (1902).
He works as a private detective and lives at 221b Baker Street in London with Dr. Watson. Together, they help the police and solve mysteries. Sherlock is very intelligent and often finds the solution faster than the police.
He usually wears a detective's hat, carries a magnifying glass in his hand and has a pipe in his mouth. He is taller and thinner than Dr. Watson. He is not married but he has got a brother, Mycroft.
His worst enemy is Professor Moriarty!
At Madame Tussaud's, the hair and beards of the wax statues are made of real hair! So it needs frequent shampooing and brushing, like your own hair!
Now, you know a few celebrities in London!
Choose your favourite one and present him or her to the class. To prepare for your presentation, make an information card with all the details you can discover about him or her.
