Toolbox

  • Pour parler de la fréquence à laquelle on fait quelque chose, on utilise des adverbes comme always, never, often, sometimes, all the time, every day, etc.
  • I often surf the web at home.
  • They sometimes forget to check their e-mails.

     
  • Les adverbes de fréquence se placent avant le verbe, sauf :
  • avec be ;
  • I am often scared by what I see on the Internet.
  • They are always interested in new websites.
     
  • all the time et every day, qui se placent toujours en fin de phrase.
  • We play games online all the time!
  • They check their e-mails every day.

     
  • Pour dire que l’on fait quelque chose une ou plusieurs fois par jour, par semaine, etc., on emploie :
  • I turn my computer on once a day.
  • Rebecca comes to see me twice a week.
  • We go on holidays three times a year.
  • They phone each other four times a day.
